Unparalleled coverage of grey literature across the region.

With over one million documents, carefully curated by our editors, Policy Commons: Oceania is the largest grey literature database in the region.

Reports, statistical manuals, surveys, and other grey literature enter the database daily, sourced from over two thousand organisations across Oceania. National, state, and local governments, think tanks, associations, and healthcare organisations each offer their unique perspective on both local and global issues.

Particular attention is paid to Pacific Island organisations, whose unique content is frequently lost and almost always deprecated by search engines. With deep coverage on a wide range of topics, from climate change to indigenous rights, the economy, housing, healthcare, and ageing, the database provides an opportunity for scholars worldwide to discover the Oceanian perspective and incorporate research from Oceania into their work.

In Australia, it includes Hansard and documents from 1,300 departments, agencies, and bodies. In New Zealand, it features Hansard and documents from 500 departments, agencies, and bodies.

Additionally, it covers documents from over 400 sources in more than 20 Oceania countries and territories, including Papua New Guinea, Fiji, and the Solomon Islands.

Our commitment to long-term preservation ensures that this ever-growing body of knowledge remains accessible, providing insights into attitudes, actions, and outcomes over time.

Our editors select organizations known for their reliability and impact. They’re checked regularly, and the database is updated daily.
